Gas Fitting

First and foremost with all of our gas fittings is safety; carbon monoxide is as deadly as it is difficult to detect as a result all of our engineers are fully Gas Safe registered and would be happy to prove it upon request. .

The building regulations in England and Wales make it a legal requirement for the local authority to be informed about the installation of a heat producing gas appliance e.g. boiler or fire, only a Gas Safe registered engineer can fit a new gas appliance, once a gas appliance has been installed it can only be notified by a Gas Safe registered engineer, this will comply with building regulations.

If you are a landlord please see here for information on what you are legally obliged to do and what you really should be doing.

Carbon Monoxide Poisoning

Poorly maintained, badly installed or faulty gas appliances can leak poisonous carbon monoxide. You can’t see it, taste it or smell it, but it can kill quickly with no warning.

Remember the six main signs and symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning:

  1. Headaches
  2. Dizziness
  3. Nausea
  4. Breathlessness
  5. Collapse
  6. Loss of consciousness

If these symptoms become less noticeable or disappear when away from home, this can be a sign that carbon monoxide is present.
